In “the happiest place on the planet”, some employee salaries are about to change.
We turned to Glass door to see what workers Walt disney world in Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, say they do. Known as “cast members”, these Disney park roles range from line cooks to character performers. Other hourly positions include technical jobs, such as stage technicians and electricians to keep attractions running smoothly.
We listed job titles with at least 10 salary reports on Glassdoor to make sure average salaries were based on decent sample sizes. We also looked at the jobs available on Disney Glassdoor Pagebecause many jobs have also noted salary estimates for these open roles.
The New York Times reported that, through their unions, workers at Walt Disney World made a deal last year increase the park’s minimum wage to $ 15 by 2021. Actual state the minimum wage for Florida is only $ 8.46, while California is higher at $ 12 an hour in January.
Since these latest increases were implemented very recently, the salary averages for some positions we found may not yet reflect the new minimums, as the self-reported data we looked at covers recent years.
